In 2002 Eric was diagnosed with a Schwanoma tumor. As he laid in the intensive care unit recovering from his 2nd surgery he rededicated his life to Christ. After saying "you have me whatever you want me to do" little did he know that might be becoming a missionary. Eric & Sunshine started dating after she was already serving in the mission field and the two quickly realized that it was a unique situation. Both agreed to be willing to alter what they were doing for a career and move. It was after several visits and much prayer that Eric joined Sunshine in living and working in the Dominican Republic.
Eric & Sunshine have been married for almost 5 years, served together in the mission field for 4 years, had their first son and are expecting their second child. God is taking them on the next faze of their lives and that is to serve the urban poor as Directors of Deer Creek Christian Camp. They will be starting in the fall of 2012.
Travel Plans
Right now we are in the midst of finishing our work in the Dominican Republic and closing our house. We will be selling off our possessions as we are trying to raise money to purchase a 4x4 for the Colorado winters. We have loved living and working in Santiago but so excited about out next adventure in ministry and life. We head back to the USA August 28th, 2012. For the month of September we will be spending some time with family, continuing our support raising efforts, and take some road trips as a family. October 1st, 2012 we will head to Florence, Kansas where we will be spending 6 to 9 months learning how to run a camp facility at Morning Star Ranch, getting to know the World Impact family. We plan to be moving to Bailey, Colorado in the Spring to begin our time as Directors of Deer Creek Christian Camp. We are super excited!
